Professor Joseph Grotowski
Head of School
Joseph Grotowski has been Head of School since May, 2014, having served as Head of Mathematics from January 2010 until April 2014.
His research is mainly in geometric and nonlinear analysis, in particular in geometric evolution equations. In recent years he has also become involved in a number of more applied projects.
|Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and Geometric Evolution Equations||
A number of projects are offered in the areas of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and Geometric Evolution Equations. These include topics in partial regularity theory for elliptic and parabolic systems, the evolution equations associated with liquid crystals, Yang-Mills flow and work on...
We are currently working in an exciting new area of mathematics called Topology optimisation. Our aim is to develop the tools to optimize the shape and topology of porous and composite materials to perform specific tasks. In particular we have a current ARC Discovery grant that will provide...
