Queensland Junior Physics Olympiad

7 - 11 July, 2014

How to apply

Thank you for your interest in applying for JPhO 2014! First of all, make sure you read the details about JPhO below. There is lots of important information about dates and costs. To apply for JPhO 2014 you need to submit a few items:

  • The application form, which can be downloaded from the bottom of this page, will contain your contact details and general information on your subjects and interests. It has other additional info for you too.
  • A copy of your most recent report card - we just need an idea of where you're at academically
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher. Please write your teacher's name on your application form in the space provided. This allows us to cross reference their letter and your application. Your teacher might like to mention your enthusiasm for science (so we know you really want to be here!) your conduct in class (just so we know you're a good student) and perhaps also your willingness to give bribes. (That last one's optional.)
  • When you've got it all together, mail it off to:

Queensland Junior Physics Olympiad
School of Mathematics and Physics
The University of Queensland
St. Lucia, Brisbane
QLD                                4072

If you've got electronic copies of everything, you can also put them into a single email and send to jpho@uq.edu.au - you should get confirmation back within 48 hours.

Applications are closed for 2014.

Do NOT send any money with your application - if you are successful, we will give you further details. The first round of successful applicants will be notified by mail the week beginning Monday the 19th of May, and payment, medical & permissions forms, etc., will be due no later than Friday the 30th of May 2014.

We look forward to receiving your applications!

If you've got any questions just email jpho@uq.edu.au.
