Quantum state transfer between light and microwaves
Project Level: Summer
Project Duration: 6 weeks
Hours of Engagement: 36 hours per week
Project Description:
This project will theoretically analyse a new approach to transfer quantum states between light and microwaves. Such transfers are important for a future quantum internet and for components of quantum computers. The new approach that this project will analyse offers to allow quantum state transfer with significantly relaxed physical requirements.
Expected Outcomes:
The project will fully develop the theory of quantum state transfer. The student will learn about quantum technologies, quantum interfaces, and theoretical approaches used to model them.
Suitable for:
A highly motivated and independent physics student.
