This three-day workshop is an ideal introduction to R, the powerful tool for statistical computing, data analysis and graphics.

Day 1 is ideal if you have had little or even no experience with R and want to produce robust analyses and effective graphics.  Days 2 and 3 are ideal for intermediate users or beginners wanting to go beyond the basics.  The focus throughout is on ecological applications, particularly marine.

Participants should bring their own laptop.

Monday 22 February – R Basics

  • Data input and manipulation
  • Simple statistics
  • Graphics

Tuesday 23 February – Statistical Modelling

  • General and generalized linear models

Wednesday 24 February – Programming

  • Multivariate statistics
  • Mapping

There is a separate three-day Advanced R workshop on at the same time 22-24 February in room 47A - 241.
