Algebraic varieties (or analytic varieties) can have bad singularities but
we still can decompose (stratify ) them in smooth parts , called strata,
subject to some incidence control, regularity conditions. We prove that we
can obtain stratifications which locally look like special fibrations
(Whitney fibering conjecture). This is joint work with Adam Parusinski.
