The Dunkl operators have been introduced by Charles Dunkl in the the last decade of 20's century. Nowadays they are of common use in Mathematics and Mathematical Physics. I will define a family of quadratic algebras together with a set of mutually commuting  elements named Dunkl elements. I will describe some algebraic properties of the quadratic algebras in question, and application of Dunkl elements to Schubert and Grothendieck Calculi, Combinatorics and other subjects (if time allows).
