Modular forms are often packaged as power series. Since this involves infinitely many coefficients, it is natural to ask whether one can tell two modular forms apart by comparing only a finite (and predictable) number of coefficients. I will describe what is known about this, including some recent work joint with Sam Chow (Bristol).
