‘Abundance estimate and population dynamics of manta rays at Lady Elliot Island, a key aggregation site in the Great Barrier Reef’

Lunch provided – RSVP to Anna Nourse a.nourse1@uq.edu.au

UQ's research project on manta rays was aired in early March in a wildlife television documentary featuring Lydie, CARM Deputy Director Associate Prof. Anthony Richardson and other UQ researchers. The filming of the documentary took place in manta hotspots in Mexico, Micronesia, the Maldives and Australia's Great Barrier Reef and captured breathtaking feeding frenzies, and rare mating rituals.

Project Manta, which is the fourth episode in the Wild Ones wildlife documentary series, went to air on 8.30pm, Tuesday, 6 March 2012 on ABC1 TV.
