"Rare-Event Estimation for Density Dependent Models"

Many complex systems in chemistry, biology, and engineering can be
modeled via density dependent models. Applications include chemical
reactions, population dynamics, and traffic flow in telecommunication
networks. Rare-event estimation for such models can be difficult and
is often computationally expensive. We propose a novel approach to
this problem that utilizes the limiting behaviour of density dependent
processes. We demonstrate that this method is an effective alternative to current methods.
