Dr Patricia Menéndez

Adjunct Lecturer

Dr. Patricia Menéndez is a statistician working at the Australian Institute of Marine Science in Townsville and an adjunct lecturer at the School of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Queensland in Brisbane (Australia). Patricia's education is in mathematics and statistics and she has work in several multidisciplinary projects to answer research and policy making questions in the fields of ecology, palaeo ecology, environmental sciences as well as in crime, social research and genetic modelling. She has expertise developing and applying statistical methodology and computational methods as well as carrying out statistical and computing training to statisticians and non statisticians.
Her research interests are on the application and development of statistical methodology to solve real life problems as well as bringing statistical knowledge closer to other disciplines. In particular, Patricia is interested in research problems involving time series and spatial analysis in conjunction with the development of statistical computational methods.
